Library Board Minutes 1982 09-13-82The library board met at the library Monday, September 13, 1982.
Absent were C. Gardner, M. Behrens, J. Middleton.
Minutes of the. previous meeting were read and approved.
The treasurer's report was filed for audit.
A motion to pay the outstanding bills was made by L. Jennings, seconded
by J. Brant. Roll call vote Brant, yes; Jennings, yes; Skinner, yes;
Thompson, yes; Ellis, yes; Gardner, yes. Motion carried.
The librarian presented her monthly report.
The city council representative, L. Jennings, reported that there is a
possibility of having cable TV installed in the new library with only a
direct cost expense. J. Brant made a motion that Jennings investigate
the possibility further. Motion seconded by M.E. Ellis. All in favor.
A motion was made by L. Jennings to request the city council to release
2795. from the revenue sharing to pay for the new copy machine in the
library. Brant seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The proposed policy changes and additions to the by-laws were presented
to the board. A motion to accept the changes was made by L. Jennings,
seconded by Ellis. All in favor.
A motion to accept the bid of school district #115 in the amount of $1500.
for 98 units of shelving was made by L. Jennings, seconded by M.J. Gardner.
Roll call vote Brant, no; Jennings, yes; Skinner, no; Thompson, no;
Ellis, no; Gardner, yes. Motion failed.
A motion to reject all other bids was made by J. Brant, seconded by L.
Jennings. Motion carried.
L. Jennings made a motion to have the librarian, Mary Thomas, notify
school district #115 that their bid had been rejected. If the school
district will reconsider to purchase all of thb shelving @ $40.00 per
unit Mrs. Thomas may accept the offer. J. Skinner seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
M.E. Ellis motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by H.J. Gardner.
All in favor. Meeting adjourned.
