Library Board Minutes 1983 01-17-83r123
The Library Board met January 10 lt the library. Martin
Behrens was elected Pres . Pro-tem and Joyce Skinner served as Sec-
retary pro-tem. Present were Behrens, Gardner, Brandt, Skinner
and 1j Jennings . Minutes were read & approved . The treasurer's re-
port was read and filed for audit . It was moved by Brandt and
seconded by Jennings that the report be accepted. The motion was
made by Brandt and seconded by Gardner that the bills be paid as
presented. All were in favor.
The Librarian reported a gain in circulation and a big month
in January.
L. Jennings gave the report from the city. The City Council
felt bids should be let ft5r the needed library equipment but the
companies just didn' t bid. The building committee can only reccom-
med what they feel is needed for the Library but the City has the
final authoirity. The main concern of the council was did we have
an adequate list of things to pick from. The new Library building
will be 5 to 6 weeks late--it may be done in Morch. The State will
not let bids for the bridge until the Library is done. The city
suggests a change of tile in the bathroom that would clean & wear
better. The Lib. Board concurred. It is impossible to get the loft
at this time as it might delay the building and therefore the bridge.
There was a discussion on the space requirements of the lateral
files . A clarification is needed from the archetect before they
can be ordered. There is some problem on the actual height of the
files . L. Jennings said he would try to get that information.
They could not get almond colored bathroom fixtures from Am. Standard
but were able to get something almost that color in a high gloss,
smooth finish.
Jennings moved the meeting be adjourned and Brandt seconded it.
Joyce Skinner, Sec . Pro-tem.
