Library Board Minutes 1986 09-08-86Se:item er 8. 17,8.E The meeting was brought to order by President Mary Olson with Bown, Hayden, Ellis-Smith, Small Manthei, Olson, Skinner Stewart. Thomas . Tronc in attendance. The minutes were approved as corrected. The Financial Statement was presented and filed for audit, 73own moved that the bills he paid as presented, seconded by Ellis-Smith. The motion carried unani- mously: Ayes : Bown, Hayden, Ellis-Smith. Manthei, Olson, Skinner. Stewart, Tronc; The Librarian' s Report was presented. Video use is down due to the video rental opportunities through Yorkville merchants. Ellis-Smith presented the SOLS report and stated that they are working on establishing stronger lines of communication between BOLS snd Librarians. It was requested that the City give the Library grounds some additional attention before the Dedication ceremonies. Iew committees were named for the year: Building: Manthei::(chairman) , Small, Stewart Policy: Skinner; , Bown, Tronc Finance : Hayden*, Ellis-Smith, Bown Personnel: Olson*, Skinner, Tronc Publicity: Stewart*, Trone, Manthei Library Dedication details are as follows: 118 invitations have been mailed; 113 invitations were hand delivered; Refreshments will be brownies , punch, coffee; the program will feature the high school band, Mayor Davidson, Dennis Hastert, Mary Thomas ; James Edgar is still a possible speaker. It was suggested that Judy' s Flowers be contacted for loaning some potted pla.nlfis for the occassion. Tour guides will need specific instructions for the day. The Personnel Committee should meet soon to determine any salary changes for Kim Foehler as recommended by Nary Thomas, Book check-outs are now for 3 weeks with an unpubliciz^d re-newa1. Further study of this proceedure will be undertaken. Ellis-Smith moved for renewal of the slate of officers for the year. St-wart seconded the motion, The Library will be open for business during the Dedication and on Fomecoming Saturday from 12-4:OOPM. Library packets of meeting information should he ready for distribu- tion on the Friday noon previous to the meeting date, J.D. Hart Office Supply is looking into furniture possibilities for the Loft Lounge area. The next meeting will be Oct, 13.
