TP- e meeting was called to order by President ?'ary Olson, Present
at the meeting were: sown, Ellis-Smith, Hayden, 1snthei . Olson, Skinner,
Stews.rt. Small, Thomas Tronc. The minutes were read and approved. The
financial statement was presented and filed for audit. N9_nthei moved
that the bills be paid as presented and Olson seconded the motion. The
motion carried unanimously. Ayes : Bown, Hayden, Ellis-Smith, Nanthei,
Olson, Skinner, Stewart, Tronc.
LI-RARIA? ' S REPORT: Iia_ry Thomas reported the .ddition of more Adult
Literacy Books and reviewed a yanking in the state of the Yorkville
Library on nine selected variables. Hand-outs are ays.ilal,le for two
recent workshops: The Gift of Reading and Storytelling.
POLS: An acknowledgement of NiniGrant Proposals was Niven at the
t meeting. The group discussed Aurorx ' s policy of offerinff. reduced
rate Library cards to some patrons.
TREES COMMITTEE: There &re0200 aivailable from the City for trees
on the Library grounds when a plan for landscaping is developed. The
Cooperative Extension Office is drawing uo a plan which will be available
on December 1.
euENTT??RE COMMITTEE: A discussion of the necessity of new loft
furniture was held. A concensus of opinion was that, if a purchase is
made, it be for an intitutional style of furniture at Grade 7. The
committee will look into possible sources for side tables at a lower
cost and will bring a total recommendation to a later meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: A discipline problem with Jr. High students was
brought to the Board' s attention. A few seem to be abusing their study
I use privileges and were, insaddition, found to be smoking on the
premises. A burnhole has been found in the carpeting as a result. The
staff feels confident in handling the problem at this time.
Snags seem to be developing Quite easily in the- carpeting and the
