Absent: Stewart, The minutes were accepted Ls :mended. The financial statement was a^.Cepted : nd filed for audit '-‘y ,!lotion of Ellis-S.P.ith, seconded by Porrn. Ellis-Smith moved that the bills he paid, seconded by Skinner, unanimously a-lproved by the Board. The Librarian noted a r;ecre re in circulation for the n-nth of r.uarr., The WCC Literacy Coalition met in December. Continued funding of literacy projects looks ood, '''dry Thomas has submitted a notebook of the library' s nubile relations program in 198E for judging in the John Colton Dona Library Public ?elitions Awards Contest. RO Sraised the salt-ries of three Department Heads and adopted a policy for non_-Yesident fees . Policy chances were preented by the committee. Action was tabled by Skinner and seconded by ?Hayden. ayden presented a final furniture puchase r:ronosal, ' - I anthei moved to authorize an additional 175.00 from the Hemorial Fund for purchase of the furniture,:;toycover the costs of the upgraded 9 fabric T. nd frei;ht char ;es of $100. The motion was seconded by Sown, and unani- mously approved. Table selection is to be determined vet by committee. Py roti on of sown, seconded by Ellis-Smith. Hayden is authorized to write check for a 207,, down-Payment toward the furniture. Ellis-Smith moved, with a second by Skinner to authorize the Furniture Committee to spend up to :400 for the purchase of tales . The motions carried by unanimous vote. On behalf of the Landscape Committee, ;ianthei presented a. proposal for landscaping of Library grounds by i:stural Gardens of St. Charles: Sown moved with 2 second by Skinner to allocate 6100 from the Building iaintena.nce Fund for payment of this service. The City will be approached to contribute x:50 toward the project. The problem concerning the r+,n in the Loft carnet was tabled for further research. The Building Corarittee will pursue the matter„ Committee meetino's are established for the second Monday -evening of the month at 6:00PM, Ellis-Smith moved, with e. second by RF.vden, that Ann E'nSelhardt' s Playful Learning book 'be available for sale at the Library. ?Motion carried.
