Library Board Minutes 1989 06-12-891 REGULAR MEETING • YORKVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD JUNE 12, 1989 The regular meeting of the Yorkville Public Library Board on • June 12, 1989 was brought to order at 7: 08 p. m. by Down. Roll call was taken. Hayden motioned to accept the minutes to the previous meeting and Radke seconded. TREASURER'S REPORT Ellis motioned to accept the Treasurer ' s Report and Lucietto Scheffrahn seconded. Motion carried. Ellis motioned to Pay the Bills, Lucietto Scheffrahn seconded, roll call motion carried. LIBRARIAN' S REPORT Thomas reviewed her report . BUR OAK Ellis has one more meeting to attend prior to the end of her term. Sanders arrived at 7: 15 p. m. CITY COUNCIL Jahp stated that the council was still checking on the lighting outside and will check on the distribution of funds. Thomas stated that the Air Conditioner did not function properly, Refrigeration Unlimited came out and cleaned the condenser , she asked Jahp to check where their check goes. Jahp stated that Price' s hours were to be 8-12 Tuesday' s and Thursday' s, but that this was not working out and that the hours were varying to an average of 6 hours per week. COMMITTEE Policy - Radke motioned to accept policies as presented at the last meeting, Hayden seconded, motion carried. Nominating - Ellis reported that the following were nominated by the Nominating Committee: Carolyn Bown - President c ^ ' r/ / - Mary Radke - Vice-President ( r ) Sue Hayden - Secretary Anne Lucietto (Scheffrahn) - Treasurer Hayden motioned to close nominations, Radke seconded, motion carried. Ellis motioned to accept the slate as stated, Sanders seconded. Motion carried. The positions as listed will take effect on July 1 , 1989. OLD BUSINESS It was decided to table the decision about the fascimile machine. No one ended up attending the June Trustee Institute, due to conflicts on that date. Thomas stated that the Summer Reading Program ended up as the Great Book Hunt . Thomas stated that she will get bids for the cleaning of the carpet . NEW BUSINESS Radke will donate a huge stuffed bear for the Library to give away as a prize this summer . Ronald McDonald will visit at the end of the summer . Jahp stated that the City Treasurer is changing the pay periods and that some city employees are-going to be asked to hold out on one weeks pay, the board expressed displeasure with that type of program for the library employees. Thomas reviewed the 1988-1989 Annual Report . Thomas explained the Request for Supp14es form. Hayden motioned to purchase the items on this month' s list, Sanders seconded, motion carried. Thomas stated that there is a new volunteer , Paul Vondrak a student at the Academy of Math and Science in Aurora. Thomas will be having surgery after July 1 , 1989 her working schedule is covered. Hayden motioned to adjourn the meeting, Lucietto Scheffrahn seconded, motion carried.
