Library Board Minutes 1989 06-27-89Bur Oak Library System Meeting
June 27, 1989
1 . Unofficial word from ISL says that BOLS will receive a $65,000.00 grant fo
MARC Conversion project.
2. Mini-grants of $7, 500.00 will be available and the criteria to meet
has been sent out.
3. The bill in the state legislature for 7” per pupil for school
libraries passed.
4. A temporary bus driver has been hired for the driver that is out for
one month because of eye surgery.
5. It is recommended by the state that an expiration date be put on all
library cards. This is especially important when these cards are used
in member libraries.
6. A preliminary budget of $1,127, 365.00 was approved for FY 1989/90.
7. The application of St . John the Baptist School in Joliet was approved
for membership.
8. The bid for a new van was approved from Baker Ford for net price of $10, 304.
9. Minutes were approved and bills were paid.
10. The minimum salaries on the salary scale were changed as follows :
Library Assistant from $16,000 to $18,000;
For Librarian I from $19, 500 to 21, 500;
For Librarian II from $21, 950 to $23, 000.
11 . Election of officers took place.

After the meeting the annual dinner was held at Flicks in Shorewood at
which I received a plaque for serving six years on the BOLS board.
Since I am no longer eligible and no other member was willing to serve,
Yorkville will no longer be represented on the BOLS board.
