Eric Dhuse y Dave Parro Appointment of Ryan Woods to Zoning Board of Appeals = Ryan Woods is the Office Manager for Rep. Tom Cross who lives on West Kendall Drive in Yorkville. He has asked to be considered for appointment to the Zoning Board of Appeals. He has been active in the community and this will be up for consideration at the City Council meeting later in the evening. Library Plan Update /Ad Hoc Committee - Mayor Prochaska met with the president of the Library Board, Joe Gruber, and Library Director, Michelle Pfister. They discussed the study that the library had done regarding expansion. They are currently reviewing the study and will vote to accept it. At that time, they will make a recommendation to the City Council to accept the report also. Once the Library Board accepts it, they will give a copy to the Council. The discussion concerned creating a community or ad hoc committee that would include a few members of the City Council, the Library Board and community members. This committee would look at the report and put together a plan to go forward with the expansion. The Library Board will be discussing the report at their next meeting but it might not be up for a vote at that time. Administrator Graff stated that he received information regarding a change in the state grant to a 60/40 ratio. The grant can contribute 60% to new libraries or library expansions. The study needs to be done along with a concept for the expansion. Appointment of Chief Martin to Kencom Operations Board - Chief Martin needs to he formally appointed to the board to replace former Chief Graff This is on the City Council agenda later in the evening. Baekhoe Repair - Patten Tractor & Equipment - Director of Public Works, Eric Dhuse, was authorized to repair the CAT backhoe, which needed a transmission. The estimate was for an incorrect transmission. The correct transmission, in addition to other repairs and transportation of the backhoe, has increased the estimate from $6,100.00 to $7,900.00. The funds for the repairs are in the budget for equipment maintenance. This will be on the City Council agenda later in the evening for approval. Contract for Vision Validation - This has been requested by the Fire & Police Commission and discussed at Public Safety Committee meetings. It is a contract with National Vision Consultants, a group of licensed optometrist, to evaluate visual skills needed by police officers. It will provide YPD with a standard vision test to be given at the upcoming testing of the police officers. The City Attorney has approved the contract. He had suggested the validation test. The company is experienced in this type of test procedure. It is a one -time fee because after this is done the City will have the standard set. The contract is renewable yearly, at a fee of $1,250.00, if the City 2 wants them to come in each year to update the standard. The start -up fee is $2,500.00. This will be on the laity Council agenda later in the evening for approval. Police Report for November 2001 - The Public Safety Committee passed the report; there was nothing major on the report.
