Page 2 of 2 3. EDC 2021-24 Property Maintenance Report for February and March 2021 Complaints for February were resolved prior to the Hearing. The same was true for March with the exception of the tree issue at the sawmill. After the Hearing, the tree was ultimately removed, but the fine remained. 4. EDC 2021-25 Comprehensive Plan – Future Land Use Review Mr. Engberg said the Kendall Co. Land Plan Ordinance Committee met in March and invited city staff to discuss future land use in the county. This concerned south Eldamain Rd. and west Highpoint Rd. Much of it is unincorporated, but all agriculture at this time. They discusssed what might change in the area soon and if the Comp Plan should be revised to reflect the changes. Each participant stated what land use they now have designated in their Comp Plan. Kendall Co. has mixed use business on Eldamain and they want the city to change from estate residential along with other changes. Mr. Engberg brought this to EDC to begin a discussion. He said most Comp Plans have a 10- year horizon and a new plan would likely occur in 2024, perhaps when the bridge is done. Mr. Engberg said Metra is also doing a study and will likely pick the Wrigley spot for a station, though Eldamain is a possibility. Ms. Noble said the city is not receiving input from the landowners in the area except for one north of Eldamain who said landowners should have an opportunity to speak regarding any proposed Comp Plan changes. She suggested that before the city agrees to amend the Comp Plan, the county should also speak with the landowners. The committee members agreed that all Aldermen should have a chance to provide input on this discussion, so it will move forward to the full Council. Old Business: None Additional Business: Ms. Milschewski said she received two complaints about grass not being mowed at the townhomes near her residence and she believes there may be new owners. Mr. Ratos will look into this. There was no further business and the meeting adjourned at 6:15pm. Minutes respectfully submitted by Marlys Young/remote
