Resolution 2024-36 Resolution No. 2024-36 A RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, DECLARING CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY SURPLUS AND DIRECTING DISPOSITION OF SAME WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville (the "City") is a duly organized and validly existing non home-rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and WHEREAS,the Illinois Municipal Code authorizes the City to sell any personal property that is no longer necessary or useful to the City (65 ILCS 5/11-76-4); and WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville Police Department (the "Police Department") has recently purchased three new Police Explorer Interceptor vehicles; and WHEREAS, due to the addition of these new vehicles, the Police Department has identified one 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe (the "Vehicle") as surplus and no longer necessary or useful to the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has identified Auto Smart of Oswego, Illinois as a dealership that the City has worked well with in the past and that is willing to sell the Vehicle on consignment; and WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its residents to declare the Vehicle surplus and authorize the sale of said surplus Vehicle as recommended by the Chief of Police. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows: Section 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated into this Resolution as if fully restated herein. Section 2.The Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville find and determine that the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe(VIN #I GNSK2EC3FR725184) be declared and is surplus and no Resolution No. 2024-36 Page 1 longer needed for municipal purposes, and further authorize and direct the disposal of same by sale on consignment through Auto Smart of Oswego. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
