A RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS,
AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH BSN SPORTS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF ATHLETIC LEAGUE UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville (the "City") is a duly organized and validly
existing non home-rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of
Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and
WHEREAS, the City's Municipal Code provides that the City may approve contracts for
supplies and equipment that have not been competitively bid by a two-thirds affirmative vote of
the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City is responsible for purchasing uniforms and other equipment for
athletic leagues and other programs offered by the City's parks department, the cost of which is
covered by participant registration fees; and
WHEREAS,the City currently contracts with BSN Sports for the purchase of these items
and has found BSN Sports offers high quality products and customer service at competitive prices;
and
WHEREAS, the City's current contract with BSN Sports for the purchase of athletic
uniforms and equipment expires at the end of this year; and
WHEREAS, BSN Sports has provided a quote for athletic uniforms and equipment for the
year 2026 (the "Quote"), attached hereto as "Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, the City, therefore, desires to enter into a new contract with BSN Sports for
the purchase of athletic uniforms and equipment during the calendar year 2026, pursuant to the
terms of the Quote; and
WHEREAS,the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best interests of
the health, safety and welfare of the City and its residents to waive the competitive bidding
requirement and authorize and approve a one-year contract between the City and BSN Sports for
the purchase of athletic uniforms and equipment.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the United
City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois:

Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated in this Resolution as the
findings of the Corporate Authorities.
Section 2. In consideration of the foregoing recitals, the competitive bidding
requirement is hereby waived and the City Administrator is authorized and directed to
proceed with the execution of a one-year agreement with BSN Sports for the purchase of
athletic uniforms and equipment.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and
approval as provided by law.
Passed by the City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois this
9th day of December, A.D. 2025.
