ECONOMIC & DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
CITY OF YORKVILLE
JUNE 1, 1993
The meeting was held at City Hall at 8:30 AM. Present were Bill
Baird, Jack Jones, Dan Kramer, Greg Gabel and Don Peck.
PC -93 -5, Diehl Property. The plan looks to conform. Apartments as
a buffer not looked upon favorably. Assess on Rt. 34 and
improvements on Eldamain discussed by Lannert. Limit crossings on
Rob Roy Creek. Increase r.o.w. to 100 ft. Transition /Land Cash
fees under discussion at Springfield. Various examples such as St,
Charles & Geneva. Kendall Co. appraises at $35,000 per acre on
fully developed property. Discussed paying all fees for all lots
up front or by lot. Discussion on overlot grading for each permit.
PC -93 -6, Gail Fisher. General discussion and description of B -3
zoning. Dan recommends bringing in new annexcations at given
classes instead of Ag. - makes property more attractive.
Discussion to have access to the west and landscaping
buffers / transistions to residential.
PC -93 -7, John Conover, west of Jail Complex. Description / "O"'
zoning thought to be best and similiar to County. Access points
discussed.
PC -93 -8, John Conover, 195 A. General discussion. Property to
north was excluded inadvertently. Butts up to R. R. track.
Suggested that both need to be looked at together. M -1 or Ag
zoning or R -1 recommendations sought or both. Neighbors want a
buffer.
PC -93 -9, Gary Conover, Property east of intersection of Cannonball
and Rt. 34. Discussed petition as B -3. Owner amenable to
different uses but doesn't want to be different. From corner of
Rt. 34 & Cannonball accesses discussed. Transistions discussed.
Planner want to know what City has planned. Mr. Henne and other
neighbors want to keep it residential, it was originally B -37, and
switched to residential. Neighbors want to keep it the same.
Owner of 34 & Cannonball covenants discussed. Not resolved,
intentionally by landowners. Want recommendation from planner.
Corner platted as residential.
PC- 93 -10, John Lies, Jr., et al, SW corner of Faxon & Cannonball.
List as R -2. No discussions or criticism. Densities discussed.
Lannert suggested an inventory of existing conditions, etc. of
current uses, etc. be done. Make recommendations of traffic flows,
etc., then can be more specific as to open areas, etc. July is the
target date for recommendations for public hearing.
