EDC Minutes 1997 12-16-97 CITY OF YORKVILLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MEETING DECEMBER 16, 1997 Members present: Sowinski Lynch Spang Johnson Prochaska Jones Others present: Nanninga Chairwoman Kathy Jones called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Home Page Brian Spengler addressed the committee concerning the lay out of a home page for Yorkville on the Internet. He displayed on the computer the various aspects he has already developed. There was discussion of how this could be funded and if other groups such as the Chamber of Commerce may want to be involved. He was directed to prepare a proposal of what this would cost to lay out and to maintain on a monthly basis. He will bring the information to Mr. Nanninga. Building Permit Report The format of the building permit report was discussed. It will go to COW January 15. Race Track Legislation Legislation that is being proposed in the General Assembly concerning Race Track Legislation and it being voted on in referendum was discussed. It was the consensus that this could be good for the city. This would only pertain if the racetrack stays at the county level. This will go to COW. Comprehensive Plan Mr. Prochaska said the text needs to still be revised with current traffic counts and ordinance changes. This will be looked at the second week of January. Scott Miller Annexation Agreement The annexation has been received and needs to be signed. There was discussion if this will need to go to public hearing since it was an annexation requested by the city. Mr. Kramer will be consulted. Additional Business White Oak Subdivision Public Hearinq There will be a public hearing Thursday night concerning the sidewalk / trail issue at White Oak Subdivision. It may go to vote at City Council. Plan Commission / McCurdy Mr. Prochaska reviewed the concept plan that was presented at the Plan Commission. Mr. McCurdy is proposing to rezone his property from R -1 to R -2 and split it into 3 lots. There were issues concerning a turn around in the road and the sewer hookups discussed. i EDC 12/16/97 Snyder Annexation The petition has been filed by Snyder, but the neighbor involved has not filed yet. Apartments Mr. Nanninga said he has been in contact with the developers. The roadway in that site has been dedicated to the city and was re- subdivided in 1979. The affect on the transition, land cash and development fees were discussed and a memo has been forwarded to Mr. Kramer. Shell Station The Shell Corporation has until the end of the month to apply for a building permit. Mr. Detmers will be in contact with them. Mr. Sowinski suggested a written letter notify them this will soon expire. Edmeier The ComEd easement was discussed. There is still not an agreement.
