Home My WebLink AboutResolution 2026-056Resolution No. 2026-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A SKID STEER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $69,739.28 WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois (the "City") is a duly organized and validly existing non -home rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and WHEREAS, the City's Municipal Code provides that the City may approve contracts for supplies and equipment that have not been competitively bid by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City's Public Works Department has determined that the City is in need of a skid steer for the new Public Works and Parks Department facility; and WHEREAS, Atlas Bobcat of Elk Grove Village, Illinois (the "Supplier") has submitted a quote for a S76-2 T4 Bobcat Skid Street Loader (the "Equipment") for a total of $69,739.28 (the "Quote"); and WHEREAS, the City has set aside $75,000 in the current budget for the purchase of a skid steer; and WHEREAS, the City used Sourcewell competitive procurement system to obtain the Quote from the Supplier and finds the Supplier's price to be reasonable; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best interests of the health and safety of the City and its residents to waive the competitive bidding requirement and authorize and approve the purchase of the Equipment from the Supplier as hereinafter provided. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows: Resolution No. 2026-56 Page 1 Section 1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated into this Resolution as the findings of the Corporate Authorities. Section 2. The Corporate Authorities hereby waive the competitive bidding requirements in accordance with the City's Municipal Code and pursuant to the foregoing recitals, and the City Administrator is authorized and directed to proceed with the purchase of the Equipment for an amount not to exceed $69,739.28. Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval as provided by law.
