AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE NAME CHANGE OF WE ARE CALLED TO CARE
TO SELAHHOME FOR KIDS NFP, AND THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO 609
NORTH BRIDGE STREET, YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, KENDALL COUNTY
WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois (the "City"), is a duly
organized and validly existing non -home rule municipality created in accordance with Article VII,
Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and
WHEREAS, the City is the Owner of property commonly known as 609 North Bridge
Street, Yorkville (the "Subject Property') and entered into a Lease with We Are Called to Care, a
non -for -profit Illinois corporation, (the "Lessee") for a term commencing May 14, 2024, and
terminating May 14, 2034, (the "Lease"); and,
WHEREAS, the Lessee has advised the City that it has changed its name from We Are
Called to Care to Selah Home for Kids NFP but remains a non -for -profit Illinois corporation with
the mission of the Lessee; and
WHEREAS, the Lessee has also advised the City that it desires to perform concrete patio
and service walk improvements, and although the concrete patio and service walk improvements
services are being donated to the Lessee by the contractor, the value of the improvements is
expected to exceed $10,000; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to paragraph 5 of the Lease, and improvements made to the Subject
Property, the cost of which exceeds $10,000, must be approved by the City Council; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have reviewed the improvement plans for the
Subject Property and the recommendations from the City Staff and are prepared to approve all
improvements to the Subject Property for which permits have been issued and acknowledge the
name change to Selah Home far Kids NFP, all as hereinafter set forth.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and City Council of the United
City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing preambles are hereby incorporated into this Ordinance as if
fully restated herein.

Section 2. The City hereby accepts Selah Home for Kids NFP as the Lessee under the
aforesaid Lease.
Section 3. The improvements to be made to the Subject Property at a cost in excess of
$10,000 as identified on the permits attached hereto, are hereby approved as required by paragraph
5 of the Lease.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval
and publication as provided by law.
