Home My WebLink AboutResolution 2026-080Resolution No. 2026-80 A RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO FORD MAVERICK HYBRID TRUCKS FROM RON TIRAPELLI FORD, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $67,368.00 WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville (the "City") is a duly organized and validly existing non home -rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and WHEREAS, the City's Code of Ordinances provides that the City may approve contracts for supplies and equipment that have not been competitively bid by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City's Community Development Department plans to hire additional inspection staff and therefore is in need of a new truck, and additionally plans to begin replacing its fleet of existing trucks, some of which are eight years old and experiencing mechanical issues; and WHEREAS, the City's Community Development Department therefore desires to have the City declare as surplus and dispose of one of the current fleet of trucks (the "Trade -In"), and purchase two 2027 Ford Maverick Hybrid Pickup Trucks (the "Trucks"); and WHEREAS, Ron Tirapelli Ford (the "Supplier") is a supplier of Ford vehicles, including trucks, and has provided the City with a quote for the purchase of the Trucks (the "Quote"), attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Quote, the Supplier shall accept the Trade - In for a value of $14,000 and provide the City the Trucks for a combined amount not to exceed $67,368.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best interests of the health and safety of the City and its residents to waive the competitive bidding requirement and to authorize and approve the sale of the Trade -In and purchase of the Trucks from the Supplier in accordance with the provisions of the Quote. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois: Section I. The foregoing recitals are hereby incorporated in this Resolution as the findings of the Corporate Authorities. Resolution No. 2026-80 Page 1 Section 2. The Mayor and City Council of the United City of Yorkville find and determine that the following vehicle be declared surplus and no longer needed for municipal purposes, and further authorize and direct the disposal of same to Ron Tirapelli Ford for a trade-in value of $14,000: A 2018 Ford F-150, 97,160 miles (VIN # I FTNF I EG65JKF37470) Section 3. The Corporate Authorities hereby waive the bidding requirements, pursuant to the City's Code of Ordinances, and the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the purchase of the Trucks, as described in the Quote, from Ron Tirapelli Ford. Section 4. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval as provided by law.
