A RESOLUTION OF THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS,
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SKATE PARK EQUIPMENT FROM
AMERICAN RAMP COMPANY IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $50,000.00
WHEREAS, the United City of Yorkville (the "City") is a duly organized and validly
existing non home -rule municipality created in accordance with the Constitution of the State of
Illinois of 1970 and the laws of the State; and
WHEREAS, the City's Rotary Park includes an inclusive playground, a 90-foot cable ride,
a skate park, a ballfield, pickleball courts, a walking path and a bike rack; and
WHEREAS, the skate park equipment located at Rotary Park is 20 years old and in need
of replacement; and
WHEREAS, the City has $50,000.00 in the Fiscal Year 2027 budget for the purchase of
skate park equipment for Rotary Park; and
WHEREAS, American Ramp Company (the "Supplier") is a supplier of skate park
equipment, and has provided the City with a quote for new equipment for a price of $45,168.68
(the "Quote"), attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City used the Sourcewell competitive procurement system to obtain the
Quote from the Supplier, and finds the Supplier's price to be reasonable; and
WHEREAS, the additional $4,831.32 budgeted for skate park equipment would be used
for installation of the new skate park equipment; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council have determined that it is in the best interests of
the health and safety of the City and its residents to authorize and approve the purchase of the
playground equipment from the Supplier in accordance with the provisions of the Quote.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the United
City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are incorporated in this Resolution as the findings of the
Corporate Authorities.
Section 2. The City Administrator is authorized and directed to proceed with the purchase
of the skate park equipment described in Exhibit "A" from American Ramp Company in an amount
not to exceed $45,168.68, and the City's parks department is authorized to spend an amount not to
exceed $4,831.32 on the new skate park equipment.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and approval
as provided by law.
