April 27, 2011
Meeting called to order at 6:02 p.m.

No citizens present, therefore, no comments.
Previous Meeting Minutes: Commissioner Anderson corrected the minutes to read “Al Trotsky” not “Dr. Trotsky”.
Commissioner Anderson moved to approve the minutes from January 26, 2011 as corrected. Commissioner
Putzler seconded. Minutes approved.
Bills: Attorney John Broihier submitted a bill for $825.00. Commissioner Anderson moved to approve the payment.
Commissioner Putzler seconded. Motion carried.
There was discussion as to whether the fees might decrease if we were to pay a retainer ahead of time, in lieu
of an hourly rate.

New Business:
*Budget: The new budget was approved setting aside funds for the BFPC.
The use of an assessment center for testing was discussed.
Charging an application fee for testing was talked about.
The operating budget needs to have monies to cover contracts with vision, physicals, lawyer
fees, conference fees, etc.
The budget for personnel may be amended when the new administration takes office. At that
time the commission will be advised of the funds available for promotion/new hires.
The commission considered the many variables with using an Assessment Center.
* Proposed Changes to Rules and Regulations
There was discussion of Mr. Broihier’s proposed changes. Attached are copies of the changes he
suggested, the BFPC comments about those changes, and a list of questions to clarify certain areas. It
was decided to invite Mr. Broihier to the next meeting to discuss the changes.
*Applications: The applications will be changed to correlate with the BFPC rules and regulations.
*No need for Executive Session.

Next Meeting is tentatively set for Wednesday, May 25 at 6pm.
Commissioner Anderson moved to adjourn. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Motion carried.
