Old Business
1.Glory stated the newsletter is going out at the end of the month. She couldn’t
get everything into the space available. It may need to be expanded. Most of
the information is on the website. She will add a list of the movies to be
shown at Beecher and also the date and time of the Ad Hoc Committee
meeting. The LIHEAP information should also go in, but the tax assistance
can be removed as it is only in the first months of the year. If there are Special
th
Events they need to get to Glory by July 7.
th
Bonnie is taking over the Wellness Check as of July 7, so people should call
Senior Services instead of the number that was listed.
st
It was also requested that as of July 1, Senior Services has been designated as
the agency to provide services to Veterans of all ages. They are working with
the VA hospitals to do case management.
2.There was discussion on the Fashion Show. The TRIAD had suggested doing
this in October rather than the Senior Police Academy, as Barry is now on
nights and unable to put as much time in. Mayor Burd will contact the
Hampton Inn to see if they would be willing to work with us on this. Dates
suggested are October 21 or 28.
3.Tim said the Parks and Recreation catalog comes out the last week in July and
he will have staff at Beecher to register seniors for programs the first week in
th
August. It was suggested to come in on Aug. 6 as that is the date more
people are here.
4.The Needs survey has been completed and is going out in the water bills this
week. It was also suggested to hand them out at the senior communities and at
Beecher, but if people who fill them out are not Yorkville residents, it is
requested they put their town of residence down.
5.Information on the information page was discussed earlier in the meeting.
6.The renewal lease of the Beecher building was brought up. It will end in 2010
and the Mayor will get the item on the agenda for the Administrative
Committee. The City is looking into grants to update the air conditioning and
heat in the building.

a limit of 150 attendees who must sign up ahead of time.
