Fire and Police Commission Minutes 2011 12-28-11 Board of Fire and Police Commission APPROVED Minutes December 28, 2011 Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call: Mike Anderson Bob Johnson Margie Putzler Also Present: Chief Hart Deputy Chief Schwartzkopf Katie Robbins No citizens present, therefore, no comments. Previous Meeting Minutes: Commissioner Anderson moved to approve the minutes from October 13, 2011 as presented. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Minutes approved. Bills: Commissioner Anderson moved to accept the contract from National Vision Consultants, Incorporated. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Roll call: Commissioner Anderson yes Commissioner Putzler yes Chairman Johnson yes Motion carried. Correspondence: BFPC received two letters of resignation: One from Dave Delaney and one from Zackery Rundlett. Officer Pleckham wrote a letter of appreciation for being included in the promotion procedure. Executive Session: Commissioner Putzler moved to go into executive session for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. Commissioner Johnson seconded. Roll call: Commissioner Anderson yes Commissioner Putzler yes Chairman Johnson yes Motion carried. Entered Executive Session at 7:07 Exited Executive Session at 7:24 New Business: 1.Establish Initial Promotional Register: Commissioner Putzler moved to accept the Initial Promotional Eligibility Register as presented. Commissioner Anderson seconded. Roll call: Commissioner Anderson yes Commissioner Putzler yes Chairman Johnson yes Motion carried. 2.Establish New Patrol Officer Application Timeline: *There was a discussion about the timeline needed for the advertisement and posting of opening positions. *BFPC needs the dates that YHS would be available for testing. *There was a consensus to NOT have a power test as part of the application process. *Deputy Chief Schwartzkopf will work on the dates for the written exam and orientation as well as advertising the application process in the paper and with other sources. *Each candidate will need a passing score of 75% on EACH section of the test to continue the process. *The oral test will also require a passing score of 75%. th Next meeting is tentatively set for January 9 at 4:30pm. Commissioner Anderson moved to adjourn. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:02 pm.
