Marliyn Vorderer, and Zach Frisch, Library Director; Michelle Pfister,
community member; Mr. Frisch, and Roger Ritzman, Yorkville Public
Library lawyer
The District Fact Finding Committee was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
on November 2, 2009.
The discussion of this meeting centered on documents provided by
Roger Ritzman in regard to establishing a district library. Mr. Ritzman
provided information on the following topics
1) The conversion process
2) Conversion options
3) Advantages of conversion to a district library
4) Disadvantages of conversion to a district library
5) The Tax Levy process
6) Intergovernmental agreements with the City
7) Annexation process
8) Library property and building
9) Consequences to Yorkville taxpayers.
10) Consequences to the City
11) Voting in a Library District
12) Consequence of existing bonds
13) Consequences for Library Trustees - Election date
The Fact-Finding Committee will meet on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at
6:00 p.m. to develop a fact sheet to present to the City through our
library liaison, Joe Plocher.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
