Fire and Police Commission Minutes 2012 02-13-12 APPROVED Board of Fire and Police Commission Minutes February 13, 2012 Meeting called to order at 3:00 p.m. Roll Call: Mike Anderson Bob Johnson Margie Putzler Also Present: Deputy Chief Hilt Deputy Chief Schwarzkopf Katie Robbins No citizens present, therefore, no comments. Previous Meeting Minutes: Commissioner Anderson moved to approve the minutes from January 25, 2012 as presented. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Minutes approved. Bills: None Correspondence: None Executive Session: Commissioner Anderson moved to go into executive session for the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body or legal counsel for the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee of the public body or against legal counsel for the public body to determine its validity. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Roll call: Chairman Johnson yes Commissioner Anderson yes Commissioner Putzler yes Motion carried. Entered Executive Session at 3:02 p.m. Exited Executive Session at 4:31 p.m. with no formal action taken. *There are 53 applications that meet the BFPC requirements. Discussion was held about whether to proceed or extend the application process. Pros and cons were pointed out. It was decided, by consensus, to proceed. *75% will be the minimum score on EACH part of the written test to be considered a ‘passing’ score. This is the same as last time. *We need to order 53 tests. *Katie will gather all materials for testing date. (Pencils, erasers, timers, etc.) *Oral interviews will be given to the top 20 candidates – this will be decided by combining the written test scores and any preference points earned and claimed. *If YPD has any possible questions/scenarios they would like to see added to the oral interview, they should bring them to the next meeting for consideration. Budget: Deputy Chief Hilt brought the budget ledger to the attention of the BFPC. At this time, BFPC is over budget. The next event will be the Written Test on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8:00 with the test starting promptly at 9:00 a.m. Commissioner Anderson moved to adjourn. Commissioner Putzler seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
