PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 19, 2008 6:00 P.M.
City Hall Conference Room

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm. by Joe Besco.
Presentations: None.
Minutes for Approval/Correction: April 15, 2008 —Approved as presented.
Items Recommended for Consent Agenda:
1. PW 2008-68 Water Department Report for March 2008
2. PW 2008-69 Water Department Report for April 2008
3. PW 2008-70 McHugh Road Roadway Improvements—Bid Results
4. PW 2008-712008 Asphalt Surface Treatment—Bid Results
5. PW 2008-72 2008 Crack Filling Project—Bid Results & MFT Appropriation
Resolution
6. PW 2008-73 Van Emmon Water Service Transfers—Change Order #1
7. PW 2008-74 Kendall Marketplace— Temporary Entrance Permit Bond
Release
8. PW 2008-75 Kendall Marketplace— Off site Storm Sewer Bond Release
9. PW 2008-76 Grande Reserve—Letter of Credit Expirations
All the items recommended for Consent Agenda will move on to City Council on
Consent Agenda.
New Business:
1. PW 2008-77 Quarterly Tool Inventory— This is informational only. No further
action is needed.
2. PW 2008-78 Tower Lane Elevated Water Storage Tank Repair and Painting
— This is in the 08/09 budget. This will move on to City Council.
3. PW 2008-79 Petition for Private Well within City Limits —policies form other
municipalities will be obtained. This will come back next month.
4. PW 2008-80 Wells 3 & 4 Treatment Facility—Certificate Regarding
Operation & Maintenance— This will move on to City Council on Consent
Agenda.
5. PW 2008-81 Wolf Street Property— This will move on to City Council.

6. PW 2008-82 Summer Water Conservation Policy—information will be
collected from other communities. A press release will be made about water
conservation.
Additional Business
Eric Dhuse said the historic street name signs have been ordered. There will be 1 per
road at the busiest intersection of that road.
Brendan McLaughlin said there are some homes near Kendallwood with excess water
near their foundations.
Robyn Sutcliff said the residents in Prairielands are interested in the beautification of the
corners of the blocks. The Public Works department will prepare the spaces for planting
and volunteers will provide the plants and maintain them throughout the year.
